Catalog SKUs in standard outrunner dimensions. Net-shape aluminum die castings, finish-machined. No more CNC-from-billet.
Every drone motor company outside China either (a) imports outrunner shells from a Chinese die caster or (b) CNCs them from solid aluminum stock — slow, wasteful, expensive per unit. The Chinese supply chain figured out the productized approach decades ago. America has not replicated it.
Shared profile platform across the SKU lineup. Per-SKU dimensions are paired to the matching American Stator size.
Five rotor SKUs, each paired to an American Stator size. Buy them together or independently.
A hardened steel die-casting tool is real money — an order of magnitude more than the extrusion tooling it replaces. That is exactly the point. We carry that NRE once, across a catalog any U.S. motor builder can buy from, so nobody has to fund a tool of their own to get off CNC-from-billet. Once the die exists, per-shell cost is aluminum, a shot, and a light finishing pass. Amortized across the catalog, a cast shell lands roughly an order of magnitude under machined billet — and within reach of the Chinese price. For U.S. drone motor builders trying to onshore at competitive cost, Rotor Castings is the lever.
